Anyone currently residing in the UK cannot have failed to miss the wave of gloriously hot weather sweeping the nation at the moment. For days now we have been waking up to impossibly sun-drenched mornings and enjoying temperatures that have not been seen on these shores for what feels like years.

I tend to be one of those ladies that decides almost immediately whether or not a trend is for her and once I have made up my mind there is just no budging me. Super short shorts, for example, were instants no-nos (why on earth would I go to extra special lengths to show off these pins?!), whereas with floral prints and maxi dresses appealed it was love at first sight.

As someone who is getting married in August I know from firsthand experience how expensive weddings can be. Not only do you have to think about the cost of the venue and catering, but as all us girls know, one of the most important cost considerations is the dress. Do you spend a small fortune on a one-of-a-kind couture dress or buy your dress from the supermarket?!

There comes at least one point in every woman's life when a not inconsiderable amount of time is spent on contemplating a fringe. If you wear your tresses long then getting a fringe can be a big commitment.
In a few snips of the stylist's scissors both your hairstyle and face will be utterly transformed, although there is never any guarantee that this will be for the better. Plus, if you do like your fringe but do not possess a steady hand, you will have no choice but to make regular trips to the salon for trims and if it turns out to be a disaster growing it out is going to be a slow and painful process.

Many of you will have noticed that lots of the trends set to be huge this coming summer have a distinctly 70s feel to them. Not only is everybody going crazy for denim all over again, but big floppy summer hats, cork wedges, floral maxi dresses, tan leather saddle bags and high-waisted anything are all well and truly back in fashion.

Despite looking fabulous, high heels are a constant source of misery for many women, as they are the epitome of that old saying: 'beauty is pain'. The thing is, the fashion world does, always has and always will love heels, as not only do they make your legs miraculously appear longer and leaner, they are also the perfect accompaniment to almost any look.

Well theOutnet’s Birthday Sale is all over now; did you manage to get that once in a lifetime designer bargain you were hoping for? No? Sounds like you’re one of the many that didn’t.
It was hyped as being one of the biggest designer fashion sale events ever, but unfortunately for most people it didn’t live up to the expectation. It was always going to be a mad rush to grab a bargain, but people were hindered dramatically by the server struggling. Something that you’d like to think could have been anticipated by the guys at theOutnet based on the amount of RSVPs they must have received.

For many of us the choice as to which trends we choose to embrace is not driven by whether or not we actually like them, but how we think they make us look.
We all see ensembles on catwalks or in magazines that we will happily admit are utterly fabulous, but yet in the same breath protest that we would absolutely never wear it ourselves. This feeling of 'yes it is great but not on me' is the reaction many ladies have had to this season's fondness of shorts – they do indeed look great on the models, but those of us that do not posses perfectly tanned and toned pins are unlikely to be queuing up for a pair.

Every year there are a few fashion trends that initially strike fear into the heart of many, yet end up ultimately being embraced by the masses. Leggings are a great example of this – on paper they just shouldn't work and many of us recoiled in horror at the thought of their return, but fast-forward a year and they are an absolute wardrobe staple with almost every woman owing at least one pair.

As we are all more than well aware, there are some trends that simply come and go and others, once arrived, that tend to stick around for the long haul. Short-lived trends are generally defined by their would-sell-my-grandmother-to-get-my-hands-on items that you just cannot live without, which soon after purchasing you discover that you can actually live without and in fact probably would prefer to (sequined harem pants, anyone?).
But that is not to say that there is anything especially wrong with those fleeting fashion trends; everybody gets caught up in the excitement of the 'next big thing' and it's fun to do so. Just make sure you are not still wearing it beyond its sell-by date.
