Whilst Sunday evening was all about Hollywood glamour at the 67th annual Golden Globe awards in Beverly Hills, Tuesday evening saw the stars come out for the 2010 Brit Awards nomination announcement party in London. Although the dresses on show were rather different from those we saw on Sunday (they were generally much shorter for a start!), there were just as many fantastic looks and fashion faux pas.

To start with, cute-as-a-button Pixie Lott looked fantastic in a head-to-toe black ensemble. Whilst her choice of colour was classic, she managed to keep her look young and fresh with a combination of sky-high black patent heels and over-sized bang-on-trend shoulders á la Dolce and Gabbana. Her chunky ring and two necklaces also made for a subtle and stylish addition to the whole outfit. Queen of Quirky Fearne Cotton oozed cool in a high-waisted skirt, teamed with a beautiful blue silk top and fabulous black heels. Fearne also managed to reflect her fun personality in tights which read 'wanna party' down the backs of her legs! Another lady who did herself proud was N-Dubz singer Tulisa, who looked delightful in a floral print 50s-style prom dress which she wore with a white belt to emphasise her tiny waist.

Not looking quite as fantastic were Nicole Appleton and Melanie Blatt, who both looked rather under-dressed compared to most of the others on the red carpet. Gabriella Cilmi also looked a little less than sophisticated in her rather cheap-looking tight-fitting monochrome number and La Roux looked predictably bizarre in a space-suit jacket and impossibly high hair!
