I Don't Want No Body(Suit), Baby

As I am assuming is the same for every woman out there, there are some fashion trends that I embrace wholeheartedly and others that send me into almost instant denial. This season's apparent penchant for floral prints is, for example, something that I have loved from the very first minute it entered my frilly little fashion focused world. As a young lady who regularly moons over black and white photographs of her grandmother wearing homemade floral prom dresses and wishing desperately that she hadn't donated them to charity long before my birth, this spring's floral trend has filled my heart with joy. It's as if Chanel, Christian Dior, Dolce and Gabbana and Oscar de la Renta have all been working with me in mind. Thanks guys!

However, having said that, there are certain other fashion trends that upon their emergence have me instantly hiding beneath my duvet, waiting for the sartorial storm to pass. One such fashion fear-fest is, of course, the dreaded 'bodysuit'. Having been wrenched from the depths of 90s fashion obscurity by none other than Lady Gaga herself (thanks for that!), the suspiciously swimsuit-esque bodysuit seems to becoming increasingly popular this Spring. The questionable 90s theory behind the design is that they give the illusion that you've tucked your t-shirt into your jeans, but with the added advantage they would never become un-tucked. In reality, however, the bodysuit is little more than hideously ugly, horribly unflattering and rather undignified – who really wants to walk around wearing what is effectively an adult babygrow?!

I think I'll stick to my florals for now...
