I've just been sent this message from theOutnet and wanted to share it with you all:
"Hello everyone, I am Stephanie, Director of theOutnet. I wanted to personally say that we have been listening to all your comments. First and most importantly, I want to say sorry for the frustrating experience that many of you had. You have shown incredible interest in our site today and we do not take that lightly. Clearly, while we were prepared for the volume of traffic the sale would deliver, in some markets, the UK mainly, we were overwhelmed by the speed at which you came to the site this morning. This remarkable volume –up to 9 orders a second - led the site to crash for many of you, and I want to say that we are very sorry to all those who didn’t get to buy anything at the sale, but delighted for the thousands of lucky ones amongst you that did walk away with a £1/$1 bargain from theOutnet. We want to thank all of you for being part of our first year celebrations. With each event we are working hard to fix issues that arise, and want to say that we fully intend to offer you further bargain shopping opportunities in the future. Thank you again, Stephanie"

Every girl owns one LBD, or at least every girl should. A fabulous Little Black Dress is an absolute wardrobe staple – the kind of frock that always makes you feel sexy, look great and is somehow suitable for pretty much any occasion. Yet whilst the LBD will always undoubtedly have a place in both our hearts and our wardrobes, there is a new dress in town that is vying for our attention.

New York Fashion Week is usually a time of great excitement, but this year a veil of sadness has fallen over the highly anticipated event as a result of the tragic death of much-loved fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Despite being at the height of his career, McQueen was found dead at his Mayfair apartment on 11th February. The police have confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding McQueen's death and it is now believed that McQueen took his own life. His apparent suicide happened just days after the passing of his beloved mother Joyce, with whom McQueen was extremely close.

Kimberly Ovitz grew up in Los Angeles and started her fashion label in 2008 at the age of 25. She is the daughter of Mike Ovitz, former talent agent and larger than life character. Her style has been described as a US lifestyle brand with equestrian influences, largely due to her being competing horse rider when she was growing up, which has added to her understanding of discipline and tradition. After training in fashion in New York, she was apprenticed to Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel in Paris. She studied art history at Brown University, and with an appreciation of fashion history, returned to Los Angeles to work with several designers.

While we all feel the pinch, it can be said that the ongoing economic crisis has even had an effect on the direction in which fashion trends and designs are headed for the Fall of 2009.The major fashion designers have tended to focus on investment clothing, with classic styles and lines coming to the fore. These fashion items are expected to have a longevity that previous designs have not had. In other words, they will not date, and can be worn time and time again over the coming years - which makes them an excellent investment in times of economic turmoil. In addition, many designers have epitomised their own styles with statement styles, displaying unique, eccentric and escapist characteristics.

It's that time of year again when the wedding invitations start to drop through the letterbox. The first thought to pop into your mind is 'What on earth am I going to wear?'. Of course, everyone will be looking at the blushing bride and focusing on her apparel, but you also want to look your best at the wedding. Gone are the days when it was a foregone conclusion that the ceremony would take place in a church or other place of worship, and it was simply a matter of wearing a smart outfit and suitable hat. The wedding outfit that you choose also depends on the type of venue for the wedding reception. This may be a semi-formal affair in an elegant hotel or under a marquee in the grounds of a stately home, or perhaps a more relaxed affair in a pub or even in the home of the bride's family.

We’ve all been there, you’re cooking for friends, going to a dinner party or trying a new restaurant and the moment comes when you have to choose the wine. Whether you’re stood in a supermarket aisle or looking at a wine list, there is a certain amount of pressure that goes with the decision. You want to make sure whatever you select complements the food you’re going to be eating.

Whether going to a formal occasion, on a night out or simply going to work, handbags are often the most important part of an outfit. This has been the case since the early 1920s, when handbags became important autonomous fashion pieces. Only 30 years later, the 1950s saw a decade where handbags were at the fore of fashion priority as women enjoyed an era of change and innovation.
