Marks & Spencer Valentine's Outfit

Following on from my last post I’m delighted to reveal the dress I received as part of the M&S Valentine’s Challenge and how I wore it while in London at the weekend. The dress that was chosen for me is this wonderful abstract floral print number from M&S’s Limited Collection. If you've seen some of my blog posts from last year, you’ll know already that I’m a HUGE fan of this particular collection, so I was especially delighted that my secret blogger chose this dress for me.

I spent the weekend in London not at Fashion Week, but with my husband, parents and brother and sister-in-law, being tourists and enjoying the sights and sounds of the big city. Saturday night included a trip to the Apollo Victoria to see Wicked and I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to wear my new dress. Thankfully my Mum was willing to get behind the camera and take some outfit photos for me before we left for the theatre. The location of our apartment (on the Thames) made the perfect backdrop for a series of outfit photos. This is the second time we've stayed in an apartment in the St George Wharf building and I’m sure we’ll be back again!

M&S Limited Collection Abstract Floral Shift Dress

I styled the dress with two Anton Heunis jewellery pieces; my mixed-metals necklace and ring, my suede ankle boots from Oasis and my new Jimmy Choo dusky pink Shadow bag. The dress is really comfortable and flattering, it’s also lined, which means that it’s warmer than it looks. I really love it and I’m sorely tempted to get the similar version with the stripes as well. Huge thank you to whoever chose it for me (I've yet to find out), I’m absolutely delighted.

I can also reveal the blogger I chose a dress for... I got paired with the lovely Hanna, who writes a blog called 'The Wardrobe Challenge'. If you would like to see how Hanna styled the dress I chose for her, then take a look at her blog post here.

An Autumn Cape Outfit

Warehouse Cape and Black Boots

It’s been a while since I've had the opportunity to take some outfit photos, so I'm delighted to be able to share a few shots with you today. These were taken yesterday in the garden of my friend’s house, thankfully the weather was kind to us and we managed to get some great photos.

Warehouse Animal Print Cape

My animal print cape is from Warehouse, a recent addition to my wardrobe – I took advantage of the 25% discount offer they ran in Grazia magazine. It’s a wonderful solution for chilly days, completely perfect for snuggly up in front of the TV and equally suitable for nipping outside. The boots were a spur of the moment purchase from Sainsburys as I needed a pair of comfortable flat black boots.

Jimmy Choo Bag

My bag is a new design from Jimmy Choo, called ‘Sasha’ it’s available for pre-order at the moment. My large ring is from Anton Heunis, which I purchased last year. The Chamilia charm bracelet and the Links of London sweetie bracelet were both presents from my husband.

Wallis Heart Necklace

My necklace was a gift from the Wallis press evening I attended last week. It’s the ideal accessory for this outfit; adding interest and a bit of sparkle to a simple black jumper.

Back of the Warehouse Cape

I'm very envious of those bloggers whose spouses, partners or roommates are creative prodigies behind the camera lens. My husband is a brilliant IT professional, but taking photos and offering artistic direction is not his forté. In the past I've roped in my Mum to help me out and yesterday it was the turn of my lovely friend Lucy, whose blog (The Luxe Life) is a brilliant must-read.

my-wardrobe AW12 Showroom

I spent a delightful evening yesterday at my-wardrobe’s London headquarters, sipping Champagne, scoffing cupcakes and slowly working my way through the AW12 collections on display in their showroom. Surrounded by beautiful dresses, bold jewellery and statement bags was my idea of an evening well spent!

Bex Rox

Aila Bag

Favourites from the night include; the new selection of Aila bags (exclusive to my-wardrobe), statement jewellery with a capital ‘S’ from Anton Heunis, sleek and comfy wedge trainers from Ash and the gorgeous range of printed tees, with my absolute favourite being this little beauty from Carven.

Anya Hindmarch

I also had the opportunity to chat to one of their buyers, the lovely Georgina, who had only arrived back from her hen weekend 24 hours earlier – nothing like be thrown in at the proverbial deep end! It was a welcome insight into a buyer’s decision making process and lovely to hear her thoughts on the new season trends and what brands she’ll be investing in.

Thank you my-wardrobe for opening up your showroom for us bloggers to rifle through. I think there were plenty of us making mental shopping lists as we went!

Marks & Spencer's Limited Collection

Posted on Friday, 13 July 2012. Posted in TV, Outfit Styling, Shopping

Excited to report that all the items featured in my video are now in the Marks & Spencer 50% off sale - http://bit.ly/NhFCSI

Dress number one (http://bit.ly/L9Qtwk) was a birthday present from my wonderful parents, the cardigan is also from M&S (albeit not from their Limited Collection) and the wedge boots are last season from Oasis.

The second dress (http://bit.ly/NnbTdl) was actually my second 'Limited' purchase and I've paired that with some black suede boots, my favourite necklace and a decorative jacket from Sainsburys.

Dress number three (http://bit.ly/N0uPAL) is the most recent addition to my collection and is a replica of the previous black dress in orange. The top I'm wearing over it is from Zara and my necklace is from designer Anton Heunis.

The final dress (http://bit.ly/NmtIsu) was actually bought before any of the others is my favourite printed garb. The cardigan and boots are the same as before and the necklace is from Mimco.

The 'twinkle' jeans (http://bit.ly/N4RrPJ) were also a birthday present from my parents. Both the t-shirt and the cardigan are from Zara.

From Ear to Ear

One of the first ever videos I filmed for The ‘It’ Guide showcased my jewellery collection. Featuring a vast array of necklaces, rings and bracelets there was only one thing lacking – I didn’t include any earrings. Not because I don’t have my ears pierced or because I don’t own any earrings – I have more than 30 pairs of earrings and at one time had 8 piercings in my ears (teenage-angst years). It wasn’t a conscious decision not to include any earrings, more of an oversight and probably caused by my obsession with statement jewellery and my lack of anything resembling a statement earring.

So with that in mind I’ve been doing some browser shopping and selected some of my favourite statement earrings to share with you below. Browser shopping may turn into actual shopping so please let me know which ones are your favourites.

Earrings

1. Mawi - Pavé Octagon Foil Drop Earring, 2. Talullah Tu - Luxe Baroque Crystal Earrings, 3. Swarovski - Ribbon Pierced Earrings, 4. Anton Heunis - Crystal Spike Drop Earrings, 5. ASOS - Flower & Jewel Drop Earrings, 6. Miu Miu - Plexiglass Crystal Heart Clip Earrings, 7. Erickson Beamon - In The Mood For Love Gunmetal-Plated Swarovski Crystal Clip Earrings
