Next Bonfire Night
I’m fully embracing bonfire night 2016 for the first time in several years. Not only does the weather look as though it’s going to stay dry, but we’re taking along Zachary (with ear defenders!) for the first to see what he makes of it all.
Given that the weather should for once cooperate (famous last words…), I came to the conclusion that it’s the ideal opportunity to plan an outfit that doesn’t have to consist of waterproofs and wellies!
Never one to do anything by halves, when I saw an email from Next asking me to create a look for bonfire night using 5 items on their site, I sensed a challenge afoot. Rather than simply listing the items, I saw an opportunity to be a little bit more creative.
After some quick brainstorming I decided to create a paper doll that I could style with my favourite items from Next. I have fond memories of paper dolls as my first foray into the world of fashion. Long before I was sewing clothes for Barbie and Sindy, I was carefully cutting out outfits to style my flimsy friends.
So what better way to create some fashion nostalgia than turning several great stylish buys into clothes for a (very stylish) paper doll!
I’ve gone for a stylish, yet practical outfit, teaming their Navy Wadded Jacket with a snug Knitted Pom Hat, a pair of dark blue Skinny Jeans, a fabulous pair of Chocolate Leather Boots (in extra wide fit too, ideal for my ‘toast feet’) and finished off with trendy Mini Rucksack - which makes carrying life’s essentials much easier when trying to wrangle a toddler at the same time!
