If there was any brand that I would be happy to see 24:7, it would be Jimmy Choo. And thanks to their new Stylemakers site my wish has been granted. The Stylemakers site allows you to upload photos of yourself wearing your favourite pair of Choo’s and share your personal style with Jimmy Choo fans internationally. You can upload photos from your desktop, post photos from Facebook and any photos you upload to Instagram and tag with #choo247 will also feed to the site. The site also features curated content with archive images of celebrities, ad campaigns and Jimmy Choo events and all the photos can be filtered by time of day and city.
To launch the program, Jimmy Choo collaborated with renowned street style photographer, Eddie Newton. Newton photographed headline Stylemakers exclusively for the choo247.com site – Caroline Issa in London and Jessica Joffe in New York. New headline Stylemakers will be added each season in different cities around the globe throughout 2012/13. Next stop: Milan, Antwerp, Paris, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
I was one of the privileged few invited along to The Arts Club in Dover Street last Wednesday to celebrate the launch of the new site and get involved posing for photos in their Stylemakers photo booth. On arrival I made my normal dash to find Amanda (aka The Online Stylist) and subsequently bumped into most of London’s fashion blogging elite, including Emily from Fashion Foie Gras, Tala from MyFashDiary and Catherine from Red Carpet Fashion Awards. As Amanda and I had arrived early, we made the most of the extra time taking photos of the gorgeous shoes and bags on display and then moved on to taking photos of ourselves amongst the aforementioned bags and shoes. After the presentation we braved the Stylemakers photo booth to have our pictures taken donning a fabulous pair of Jimmy Choo’s. I almost fell over whilst trying to pose on one leg, thankfully I managed to regain my balance before embarrassing myself horribly and toppling into a pile of Jimmy Choo shoes (and staff!). On the way out we bumped into the lovely Briony from A Girl, A Style, after a cup of coffee and a review of our favourite styles from the morning we headed our separate ways.
Although the photos in the Stylemakers booth have yet to be uploaded to the choo247.com site, I’ve got a copy of mine to share with you. Here I am channelling my best America’s Next Top Model pose (smize, smize, smize!) and attempting not to fall over in the process.
