Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Review

Philip Kingsley

It’s not often I’m asked to try out and review beauty products, I’d like to think this is because my beauty regime needs no improvement, but I think it’s more likely that brands prefer to keep their products at a safe distance from amateurs like myself… who knew a handful of damp compost wasn't actually the equivalent of a mud mask. Perhaps then it was fate that intervened when I was asked to review one of the most idiot-proof products available on the market today.

Liquid Gold Review

Anne de Jeunesse Liquid Gold

Cleanse, tone, moisturise... three little words that were driven into my head with such frequency during my younger years that I've pretty much based my entire skincare routine around them ever since. As the years have gone by, I've begun to add more products to the basic three I started with. My daily moisturiser was switched to one with an SPF factor over ten years ago, night cream was added shortly thereafter, eye cream was incorporated three years ago and last but not least, rosehip oil completed the party.

If 1980s hairstyles ever make a comeback, I'm all over it. My hair left unstyled for any length of time starts to resemble Jon Bon Jovi's in his heyday with remarkable accuracy. Not to mention the increasing frequency in which I drag my hair into top knot only to find out later that it’s fallen out and turned into a dubious side ponytail...

ESPA Pink Hair and Scalp Mud

ESPA Pink Hair and Scalp MudAs someone who seems destined to destroy the hair nature gave them by constant straightening, curling and styling; it felt like fate was offering me a helping hand when I was asked to review ESPA’s Pink Hair and Scalp Mud intensive conditioner.

At the age of 14 I discovered straighteners and since then it’s been a daily battle to tame my mass of hair into something vaguely resembling a style. Although my hair only has a gentle wave, there’s so much of it that after blow drying I start to resemble various 80s pop stars with remarkable accuracy.

All Spas Are Equal Before Fish

on Monday, 31 January 2011. Posted in Reviews, Beauty

I recently spent a delightful Saturday with my friend Lucy, indulging in a girly day with a little pampering, plenty of chatting and lots of cake - mmmm Hummingbird Bakery.

We started the day at the Anesis Spa in South London, where we both had a fish pedicure. The Anesis Spa only recently opened and since then has had a stream of celebrities (?!) passing through its doors. I proudly announced this to my husband, only for him to decide to look up which famous faces had been gracing this marvellous new spa. The first picture he found was of Amy from The Only Way is Essex... so that immediately ended my boasting about sharing the same tank as a famous celeb.
